Project Overview
The Genetti Hospitality Group is compromised of the Best Western Plus Genetti Hotel and Conference Center (Wilkes-Barre), the Genetti Hotel and Suites (Williamsport), and Genetti Manor, a catering facility in Dickson City. In each of these markets, the Genetti family has maintained a strong presence in the hospitality field, including the largest being in Wilkes-Barre, seating 1,800 people in one ballroom. I was able to update their website to create a better experience and user flow through the site.

“Jacqueline brought invaluable perspective and insight as we needed updates to an established, aged website. She revamped the entire website and mobile app, identifying bottlenecks, creating a positive experience with ease and creating less steps, giving the consumer a clear call to action."
I was able to work alongside the in-house Marketing/Sales Director to come up with a plan and changes that needed to be done to the website. They came up with text changes and updates to information for the website. There were some aspects to the website that needed to be deleted altogether and some areas of the site that needed to be added in order to reflect the current offerings. Since we were updating the site during COVID-19, we had to have a pop-up with Covid-19 regulations on the front page as well.
We did a couple iterations of color scheme and font choices, but in the end decided to go with a simple, classy white marble background and serif font to reflect the high-end conference site and especially the wedding events which are the main focus of the business.
WEBSITE
Original website homepage
The original website had rotating pictures and an unclear navigation system. In order to access any of the links, you had to click on the "bell for service" icon underneath the description and picture in the bottom of the page.
Updated website homepage
Instead of a rotating carousel, we used sliding images that changed every 5 seconds and had a navigation system to navigate through and explain the images. Website navigation is constant at the top of every page for consistancy and clear navigation through the pages.
Original "weddings" page
Wedding events are the biggest events that Genetti's has. This original look was hard to read, too feminine, and very distracting.
Updated "weddings" page
This page is simplified, gender-neutral, readable, and organized in a way that is easier to understand. Brought in a blue accent coloring and fun icons.

The coloring and fonts are inconsistant with the rest of the site in this original version.

Changed the coloring and fonts to be consistant with the rest of the website. Added a downloadable Wedding Package pdf link which is consistant with other local providers in the area.

ANALYSIS
Data Analysis
Website traffic has been increasing since the changes were made to the website. Hotels have suffered greatly because of Covid-19, so they are looking forward to people traveling more and visiting the hotel. The updates to the website are in line with a more modern look and upscale for the hotel and potential wedding customers.
