Competitive analysis research, interviews with customers and project owners, creating wireframes, low & high fidelity prototypes, conducting usability tests, iterations in design based on user feedback, Adobe UX designs and Zeplin exports for software developers to code.

Problem Statement
Administrators in a laboratory need to monitor the systems in their laboratories because their lab techs and processes rely on the machines operating at top quality.
Solution Statement
We believe that by creating a way to view a laboratory's health, we will help scientists keep their machines in use.
We will know this to be true when we see a 20% decrease in service calls within the first year.

Interview Insights: The current programs we have available do not meet the needs of our customers. There are some external programs that customers are using to achieve some of their goals, but there is currently no program to monitor a lab externally. This can set us apart in the marketplace. Waters is very customer-oriented and has field technicians servicing the systems often.

Research Insights
There were a lot of different directions that this project could go in. The scope started with 6 different projects and is still evolving into various application ideas. The teams and project owners are still in the process of trying to determine which projects are the key ones to follow through with. 3 projects are coded and 1 is in Alpha testing within an internal company laboratory.

Created prototype based on iPad tablet sizing to show the interactivity on a smaller screen and emphasize the portability of this interface. Mobile-first design.

For this project, they were looking into using a 3rd party software provider and needed to see what it would potentially look like in order to decide which (if any) 3rd party program to go with. I focused on creating an interface that looked like the software applications they were looking into: Tableau, Spotfire, and one that would potentially be created in-house. I presented my UI findings to a meeting of Project Owners and then created a separate presentation to showcase the work to the entire 200+ Informatics Team.

Next Steps
Next projects in the works are a Lab Management product for scheduling and viewing productivity of tab techs, system health for maintenance scheduling, and driver updates to the systems for IT Administrators.
